Is the 54-year-old coach worth the wait, as well as the cost of his $2.5 million contract buyout? Frankly, that’s debatable, and U-M is seriously debating it.
Beilein is a solid coach, highly respected in many circles. He’s not the perfect choice, but to be fair, there aren’t many perfect choices (who are available). In the absence of a must-have candidate, U-M is ready to zero in.
