Nobody on Michigan’s roster is more familiar with Appalachian State than safety Jamar Adams, a North Carolina native who has a childhood friend on the team.

So, Saturday poses an interesting situation: Adams has been warned about the opponent several times.

“The guys there just reminded me, ‘Don’t sleep on us,’ ” said Adams, who is friends with Mountaineers safety Leonard Love. “They told me they’re working real hard during the summertime to prepare for us.”
