Senior defenseman Matt Hunwick scored his first two goals of the season, and the Wolverines dominated Michigan Tech, 4-1, in Friday night’s semifinal.
The Wolverines will be trying to win their first GLI title in 10 years.
“Every game against Michigan State is huge,” Hunwick said, noting that U-M plays several more times at the Joe this season. “It would be nice to have our banner hanging in the rafters.”
Sophomore Travis Turnbull and freshman Brian Lebler also scored, and junior Kevin Porter set up a pair of goals for Michigan (13-7-0).
