U-M’s Branch, Hall slip in draft — but find homes

The best-laid plans did not work out for the Michigan players in today’s NFL Draft.

Cornerback Leon Hall, projected to go in the top 10, was the first Wolverine taken, but not until the Cincinnati Bengals popped up at No. 18.

Defensive tackle Alan Branch, also projected in the Top 15, was the Arizona Cardinals’ pick at No. 33 — the first of the second round.

Still, being in the first round, that spot was just fine with Hall.
