Red Wings 3, Sharks 2 (5/2/07)
Mathieu Schneider sat in the visitors dressing room at HP Pavilion and didn’t miss a beat when asked where he was aiming his last shot of the night Wednesday.
“Right where it went,” he said with a grin that indicated the relief among him and his Red Wings teammates.
Schneider’s goal at 16:04 of overtime in Game 4 against the Sharks triggered a 3-2 victory and a 2-2 tie in the second-round series.
The defenseman scored unassisted when he intercepted Scott Hannan’s attempted clearing pass during a Detroit power play, and ripped a shot that went in off Patrick Rissmiller and over Evgeni Nabokov’s shoulder.
