Tigers’ Rogers unsure about his future

Left-hander Kenny Rogers has pitched his last game of the year.

He did that Friday night in the Tigers’ 5-2 loss to the White Sox. What he doesn’t know is if it will be his last game, period.

Rogers, 42, will head into the offseason after the Tigers’ game on Sunday not knowing if he wants his career to continue. If it does, he’d like it to be with Detroit.

If it doesn’t, it won’t be for any physical reason. It’ll be because it’s time for him to spend more time with his family.

Rogers called his absence from his family, which remains most of the season in Texas, a “huge hurdle.”

“It’s a big obstacle for any player,” he said Saturday.
