The Detroit Tigers agreed to terms on a minor league contract with left-handed pitcher Joey Eischen on Thursday, giving him a chance to help a bullpen that lost lefty Jamie Walker.
The Tigers also have invited catcher Dusty Ryan to major league camp in Lakeland, Fla., where pitchers and catchers are to report Feb. 15.
Eischen made 22 appearances last year with the Washington Nationals before having season-ending surgery in June to repair a torn left rotator cuff. He has a career record of 11-9 with a 3.67 ERA in 324 games over 10 seasons in Washington, Montreal, Los Angeles, Cincinnati and Detroit, during a 24-game stint in 1996.
