The cool, rainy weather was the first sign the end of the season was approaching for the Tigers. The out-of-town scoreboard sealed it.
The Tigers were in their second rain delay of the night Wednesday when they were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention with a Yankees win at Tampa Bay. The lingering showers led to the game being called moments later, giving the Tigers a 9-4 victory over the Twins at Comerica Park.
