If the Tigers had hit Anthony Reyes like this back in October, they might’ve set the tone of the World Series. Instead, their hitting Saturday continued the tone of the rematch.
One night after the Tigers roughed up Braden Looper for seven runs, they did the same to Reyes, who remains winless since beating Detroit in Game 1 of the World Series. Ivan Rodriguez’s three-run homer in the third inning punctuated the outburst, then the Tigers bullpen withstood a Cardinals comeback to hold onto an 8-7 victory.
