For five innings on Tuesday night, it looked like the Tigers were cruising to a doubleheader split. Detroit held a six-run advantage at the halfway point of the game, and the White Sox offense looked harmless against rookie starter Virgil Vasquez.
But just as easily as the Tigers built their early advantage, they saw it slip away. Chicago rallied for seven unanswered runs over the final three innings to hand Detroit a heartbreaking 8-7 loss at U.S. Cellular Field.
