Now it’s definite. Curtis Granderson will begin his rehabilitation Friday night, when he plays for the West Michigan Whitecaps in a 6:35 home game against Burlington.
Granderson will likely move to Triple-A Toledo to play in home games there on Saturday and Sunday, and there’s a chance he’ll play again for the Whitecaps on Monday night against Beloit. Manager Jim Leyland said today that he’d like for Granderson to get at least 20 at-bats, and preferably 25, before he returns to the Tigers.
Granderson could make his season debut with the Tigers Tuesday, when they host Texas in the first game of a six-game homestand.
