The Red Wings cleaned out their lockers Friday with several questions to be answered in the coming weeks.

The mood was predominately bright for a team that ended its season in the conference championship, and with a young, talented roster that looks well positioned for the future.

“I’ve always been optimistic,” general manager Ken Holland said. “Heading into the playoffs, peopled questioned whether we were too slow, or too old, and we found a way to win two series and we had a tremendous series with Anaheim (before losing in 6 games). Half of our team is in its 20s.”
