Detroit is on the verge of adding more hardware to its trophy case before the playoff fun begins.

Tomas Holmstrom scored twice and the Red Wings beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1 on Sunday to move into first overall in the league.

“A few more games and its the playoffs around the corner. I think everybody is getting excited,” Holmstrom said.

Brett Lebda had a goal and an assist, and Pavel Datsyuk also scored for Detroit, which broke the game open with three second-period goals.
