After Todd Bertuzzi served a penalty late in regulation Monday, he called out the San Jose Sharks’ Kyle McLaren for diving.
It was the Red Wings who sank, though, losing Game 3 against the Sharks, 2-1, before a sell-out crowd of 17,496 at HP Pavilion. The Wings lost despite finally scoring the first goal in a game in this second-round series.
Now the Wings must win Game 4 on Wednesday, or face going home burdened by the threat of elimination.
