Prince to play with Team USA this summer
In the early stages, Pistons small forward Tayshaun Prince expressed reservations about making a three-year commitment to play with the USA senior men’s basketball team.
And so the team competed without him last summer.
But when a call came a week ago asking him to rethink things, Prince took another look at his schedule and decided he could make it work.
Today, Prince joined seven other college and NBA stars — including soon-to-be lottery picks Kevin Durant and Greg Oden — in adding his name to the roster of potential Olympians.
“It’s a great feeling to be recognized for what I bring to the game of basketball,” Prince said, “and how I help a team win, and just the type of things I do out on the basketball floor.”
