Rogers hearing on Wed.; Fox ‘freezes’ two Lions games

The hearing on the Lions’ grievance against former receiver Charles Rogers will be held Wednesday at an undisclosed location. The NFL Management Council will represent the Lions while the NFL Players Association will represent Rogers. The Lions are trying to recover $10.1 million in bonus money paid to Rogers because, according to the team, Rogers defaulted on his contract when he was suspended for four games for violating the team’s substance abuse policy.
…Also, the Fox network has “frozen'’ two Lions games this season, meaning they can’t be moved to the NBC Sunday night game. Both Fox and CBS are allowed to freeze one game per week — NBC then has the option during their “flex'’ scheduling to move one of the other games to Sunday night.

The two games that won’t be moved are the Lions game against the Giants (the Sunday before Thanksgiving) and the Lions game against the San Diego Chargers on Dec. 16.
