Peterson: See you, Sooner?

Lions coach Rod Marinelli fawned over Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson at his scheduled news conference Friday at the NFL scouting combine.
The Lions have a big question mark at that position with starter Kevin Jones healing from a serious left foot injury and Shawn Bryson and Brian Calhoun having suffered knee injuries this past season.
Marinelli said he hopes all are ready for training camp, but without a guarantee, the Lions will “protect” themselves and seek a running back through free agency or at the draft.
Enter Peterson, the big, highly skilled but often-injured back who left Oklahoma after his junior season. Peterson checked in at 6-feet-1 1/2 and 217 pounds at the combine. He was the Heisman Trophy runner-up his freshman season, when he rushed for 1,925 yards before ankle and collarbone injuries hampered him the past two seasons.
