Lions sign safety Dwight Smith

The Lions have signed safety Dwight Smith, Smith’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Wednesday.

The deal is for two years and worth $5 million.

Smith played for Tampa Bay from 2001-04, winning the Super Bowl after the 2002 season when coach Rod Marinelli and defensive coordinator Joe Barry were on staff.
