An arbitration hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday in Detroit to settle a grievance filed by the Detroit Lions against Charles Rogers, their first-round draft pick in 2003.

The Lions were told earlier in the week the hearing would be soon, and confirmation came Friday, Lions chief operating officer Tom Lewand said.

The Lions are seeking to reclaim $10.1 million of the $14.4 million signing bonus Rogers got on his rookie contract in 2003. The Lions claim Rogers’ diminished his value to the team by using drugs. Rogers was suspended for four games by the NFL in 2005 for violating the league’s policy on substance abuse.
