There are already nine players, including five starters, on the Detroit Lions’ injured reserve list this season, and that list is likely to grow this week.

Running back Kevin Jones (left ankle) and left guard Ross Verba (groin) both sustained potentially serious injuries in Detroit’s 30-20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. While more tests will have to be performed before their status is definitely known, it’s possible that both players will be sidelined for the final three games of the season.
