Michigan State football players Glenn Winston and Roderick Jenrette have been dismissed from the team for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio announced the dismissals in a one-sentence statement Tuesday night.
It’s unknown whether the dismissals are related to an alleged fight in a Michigan State dormitory Sunday night. Witnesses told the student newspaper, The State News, that a group of 15-20 men, some described as football players, ran into the dorm and injured several students.
Michigan State spokesman Terry Denbow told ESPN.com on Tuesday night that no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed regarding the alleged incident at Rather Hall. Denbow said he can’t comment on the reasons for the players' dismissal.
