Quarterback Dan Orlovksy, who has a fracture in or near his right thumb, said today that he’ll be visiting a hand specialist in New York on Thursday
The Lions still have four quarterbacks on their roster and it’s possible the team is waiting to hear the prognosis on Orlovsky before deciding to put Orlovsky on injured reserve or cut Drew Henson (and put him back on the practice squad).
To make room for recently signed free agent quarterback Daunte Culpepper, the Lions released safety LaMarcus Hicks and then re-signed him to the practice squad.
